About Pisto
Annika Rantala has made a name for herself as one of the most renowned and talented young Finnish designers with her label PISTO. After graduating from the prestigious University of Art and Design in Helsinki in 2000 and before launching her own label in 2003, she worked as an assistant designer for Ritva Falla, one of the head designers for the legendary Finnish design company Marimekko.
The current Spring/Summer 2010 collection “Bird Stories” draws inspiration from flamingos, parrots and swans. It features feminine dresses, skirts and tops with fabulously quirky detailing, such as playful bows, beautiful ruffles and decorative zips. Skillfully tailored jackets and coats further complement the collection.
Each piece is hand made in Finland out of the finest chiffons, taffetas and cottons. The colour palette is a mixture of beautiful natural colours, such as white and ivory, which are further complemented by fresh turquoise and coral and subtle and soft pastels, such as peach.
PISTO is currently available in selected boutiques in Finland as well as online from www.end-shop.com.
